How It Works

The working principle of ePTFE membrane is based on its microporous structure. The pores are small enough to block liquid water droplets and dust particles, but large enough to allow air and water vapor molecules to pass through.

When the temperature inside an electronic housing increases, internal air expands. The ePTFE vent membrane allows excess air to pass out of the housing, reducing pressure buildup. When the temperature drops, outside air can enter through the membrane, preventing negative pressure and protecting the seal structure.

This pressure equalization function helps reduce stress on gaskets, adhesive seams, covers and housing joints. At the same time, the waterproof breathable membrane helps protect internal components from water, dust and condensation.
