Our custom ePTFE die-cut vent membrane is designed for waterproof, dustproof and breathable protection in consumer electronics, automotive electronics, outdoor devices, sensors, LED lighting, smart home products and sealed electronic enclosures. Made from expanded PTFE membrane with optional adhesive backing, the product allows air and vapor to pass through while blocking water, dust, oil mist and external contaminants.
The ePTFE membrane can equalize internal and external pressure, reduce condensation, protect sensitive electronic components and improve product reliability in changing temperature, altitude and humidity conditions. With custom die-cut shapes, sizes, adhesive structures and airflow performance, this solution is ideal for electronics manufacturers, automotive component suppliers, device engineers and OEM/ODM projects that require stable waterproof venting performance.
Modern electronic products are becoming smaller, more sealed and more exposed to complex environments. Consumer electronics and automotive electronic parts often face temperature changes, pressure differences, rain, washing, dust, humidity and chemical exposure. When the housing is fully sealed, internal pressure may build up or decrease during use, transportation or outdoor operation.
These problems may cause:
Traditional foam pads, mesh filters or open holes cannot provide both waterproof protection and breathable pressure equalization. Therefore, ePTFE die-cut vent membranes are widely used as a professional solution for sealed electronic products.
Our ePTFE die-cut vent membrane provides a controlled venting path for electronic housings. The microporous structure of expanded PTFE allows air molecules to pass through, helping balance pressure between the inside and outside of the device. At the same time, the membrane blocks liquid water, dust particles and contaminants from entering the enclosure.
The membrane can be laminated with PET, PO, non-woven support layer or adhesive backing according to customer requirements. It can also be die-cut into round, square, strip, ring or irregular shapes to match different device designs. For customers who need easier assembly, we can provide adhesive-backed vent patches supplied on release liner, rolls or sheets.
This makes the product suitable for automated assembly, manual placement and customized OEM production. It helps manufacturers improve waterproof reliability without sacrificing breathability.

ePTFE die-cut vent membranes are widely used in smart watches, Bluetooth speakers, headphones, smart home devices, handheld instruments, outdoor cameras and portable electronics. They help maintain waterproof performance while reducing internal pressure stress.
Automotive electronic components are exposed to rain, car washing, temperature cycling, road dust and pressure changes. ePTFE vents can be used in sensors, lighting modules, control units, battery packs, cameras and other automotive electronic housings.
For outdoor lamps, security devices, communication equipment and industrial control boxes, ePTFE membranes help prevent water ingress while allowing the enclosure to breathe. This reduces fogging, condensation and pressure-related seal failure.
LED lighting products generate heat during operation. When the temperature changes, internal pressure can affect the sealing structure. ePTFE vent membranes help balance pressure and reduce moisture accumulation inside the lamp housing.
Pressure, gas, temperature and environmental sensors often require a protective barrier that does not block air exchange. A suitable ePTFE vent membrane can protect the sensor area from liquid water and dust while maintaining stable performance.
The working principle of ePTFE membrane is based on its microporous structure. The pores are small enough to block liquid water droplets and dust particles, but large enough to allow air and water vapor molecules to pass through.
When the temperature inside an electronic housing increases, internal air expands. The ePTFE vent membrane allows excess air to pass out of the housing, reducing pressure buildup. When the temperature drops, outside air can enter through the membrane, preventing negative pressure and protecting the seal structure.
This pressure equalization function helps reduce stress on gaskets, adhesive seams, covers and housing joints. At the same time, the waterproof breathable membrane helps protect internal components from water, dust and condensation.
For best performance, the membrane must be matched with the housing design, adhesive area, vent hole size, airflow requirement and waterproof test standard.
To choose the correct ePTFE die-cut vent membrane, engineers and buyers should consider several key points.
Yes. The membrane itself can support IP67/IP68 waterproof design, but the final result depends on the membrane grade, adhesive bonding, housing structure and assembly process. We recommend testing with the actual product housing.
Yes. We can customize round, square, ring, strip and irregular die-cut shapes according to your drawings, samples or application requirements.
Its main function is to provide waterproof breathable protection, pressure equalization, dust resistance and condensation reduction for sealed electronic products.
